Privacy, clearly.
Fixing camera times, changing photo details, and renaming happen on your computer. Optional AI comparisons send small photo previews only after you choose to allow them.
Who operates this software and website
Wildwood AI LLC publishes Photo Time Fixer and operates this website. Contact jd@wildwooddm.com about privacy or your information.
Using this website
This site does not offer accounts, photo uploads, advertising, analytics SDKs, or a contact form. Fonts and site assets are served with the site. Navigation does not require a marketing cookie or browser profile.
Google Cloud/Firebase hosting and download delivery may process ordinary request information such as IP address, request time, requested URL, browser/user-agent data, and delivery/security logs. These are used to deliver files and operate, secure, and troubleshoot hosting. This notice does not promise that infrastructure logs are never created. Your browser may cache public assets.
Photo tools run on your computer
Renaming, reading and changing saved photo details, previewing changes, fixing camera times by hand, and extracting visual features run on your computer. They do not require a website account. Changing photo details does not re-encode the picture itself.
The app reads your selected photos and the saved details needed for your chosen task. These saved details are also called metadata. Camera groups, recorded times, numeric descriptions used to compare pictures (visual vectors), and analysis results can be used locally to prepare and review corrections.
Local files, logs, history, and backups
Preferences, rename journals, history, local analysis caches, and reports are stored under %LOCALAPPDATA%\ExifExpert. Journals can contain paths, hashes, and metadata differences. Analysis reports can contain private filenames, recorded times, scored judgments, probabilities, errors, and usage/cost accounting. Local diagnostic files may record application errors.
Exact previews stage full photo copies in hidden .ExifExpert/staging folders beside photos. Applied batches retain complete original files in .ExifExpert/backups. These backups stay on the storage you selected; the app does not automatically upload or clean them up. Removing history or backups can limit restoration.
Keep these records private. Your own device backup or synchronization software may copy them according to your settings. Review and redact records before sharing a support report.
Optional AI-assisted comparisons
AI use requires your own OpenRouter connection, internet access, and sufficient provider credits. Upload consent is off until you enable it for an analysis. Selected upright JPEG previews are reduced to a maximum edge of 768 pixels. The app removes metadata, and its API client strips optional JPEG metadata again before sending previews to Liquid through OpenRouter.
Requests do not include RAW originals, full EXIF, GPS tags, camera serials, filenames, local paths, or recorded timestamps. The pixels still show the people, places, and other content visible in your photographs. Consider client permissions and event sensitivity before choosing AI.
The app requests Liquid only, zero data retention, no data collection/training, and no provider fallback; an unavailable route stops analysis. These are requested service settings, not a promise that third-party infrastructure never processes operational data. OpenRouter and Liquid operate under their own terms and privacy practices. Core tools work without AI.
OpenRouter browser authorization uses a one-use code with PKCE. A saved key is encrypted for the current Windows user with DPAPI in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ExifExpert\openrouter.key. An environment-variable key is used only when there is no saved key. Keys are not intentionally placed in project files or app logs. Remove a saved key in the app when it is no longer needed.
Support correspondence
If you email us, your email provider delivers your address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use these details to answer and investigate your request. Do not send API keys, private photo collections, or unredacted reports. The site does not silently collect support attachments.
Your choices
Use offline tools without connecting OpenRouter. Leave upload consent disabled. Remove a saved AI key when needed. Manage local records and photo backups on your computer, considering the effect on recovery. Contact us with questions or requests about information you have sent directly to us.
